Privacy Policy.

Last updated: 2026-07-19

Klivet reads your training and health data to give you a daily verdict and explain your training in plain language. Your data is yours. We store it in the EU, use it only to serve you, and never sell it, share it, or train AI models on it. This page says exactly what we access, where it lives, and how to delete it.

Data controller. Rikkebärja HB (org. nr 969632-6330), Sweden. Contact: hello@klivet.app. We are the controller of your personal data under the EU GDPR.

What data we access, and why

Only the sources you explicitly connect, each via your own consent (OAuth). We request the minimum needed to model your training.

We do not read your photos, messages, social graph, comments, or kudos from any source.

Where your data is stored

What we never do

AI coaching

When you ask the coach a question, we send a short summary of your current training state (e.g. recent volume, fitness and fatigue, recent run types) to the language-model provider that generates the reply. We never send your raw activity history, your access tokens, or your name, and providers are contractually barred from training on the content we send.

Route planning

When you open the route planner in the Klivet app, the points you tap on the map — and, if you allow location access, your current position — are sent to openrouteservice, an OpenStreetMap-based routing service run by the Heidelberg Institute for Geoinformation Technology in Germany, so that it can trace a path along real footpaths and roads. Nothing else travels with them: no name, no account identifier, no training or health history, no access tokens. The coordinates are sent only while the planner is open, only for the route you are drawing, and they are not stored by us.

Routes you save, and the route you send to your watch, stay on your device. We do not upload them, we do not aggregate them with other athletes' routes, and no route data is used to train any model. A route you export as a GPX file goes wherever you choose to send it — that hand-off is yours, not ours.

The launch list

If you give us your email address on the front page, we use it for exactly one thing: to tell you when the iOS app is out. No training data, no health data, and no name is attached to it — just the address you typed and the date you typed it.

The list is held by Buttondown, a newsletter provider acting as our processor under a data processing agreement with the standard contractual clauses for transfers outside the EU. Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link; unsubscribing removes you from the list, and emailing hello@klivet.app deletes the address outright. We never sell it, and we never pass it to anyone else.

Legal basis (GDPR)

We process your data on the basis of your consent, given when you connect each source. You can withdraw consent at any time by disconnecting the source or deleting your account.

Retention and deletion

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, export, and erase your personal data, and to restrict or object to processing. To exercise any of these, email hello@klivet.app. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swedish data protection authority, IMY (Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten).

Health disclaimer

Klivet's readiness score, form, training load and prescribed sessions are estimates modelled from wearable data — not clinical measurements, not a diagnosis, and not medical advice. You train at your own risk: Klivet suggests, you decide. Talk to a doctor before starting or changing a training programme if you are unwell, in pain, injured, pregnant, or living with a heart, lung or metabolic condition, and stop exercising and seek medical help if you experience chest pain, faintness, severe breathlessness or an irregular heartbeat. Klivet is not a medical device. Full text: klivet.app disclaimer.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will update the date above and, where required, notify you in the app.
